Licensing and Operations

This operator holds an operating licence issued by the Gambling Commission under the Gambling Act 2005. The licence covers remote gambling activities and authorises the provision of online casino and bingo services to customers located in Great Britain. The licence is recorded by the regulator as active.

Under the terms of its operating licence, the company is required to comply with the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP), which set out requirements relating to areas such as customer protection, anti-money laundering controls, technical standards and reporting. The company is also required to ensure that its gambling facilities are provided in accordance with British gambling legislation and any applicable regulatory guidance.

The operator uses trading names and associated internet domains, as listed on the Gambling Commission’s public register, to provide its licensed remote gambling facilities. These trading names and domains are registered to this licence and are subject to the same regulatory obligations. Any changes to the licence, including additions or removals of trading names or domains, are recorded by the Commission on the public register.

As of the latest information available from the regulator, the operating licence remains in force and has not been recorded as surrendered, lapsed or revoked.

Regulatory History

In 2023, the Commission commenced a section 116 regulatory review into this entity’s remote casino and bingo operations. This type of review allows the regulator to assess whether a licensee is suitable to carry on the licensed activities and whether licence conditions are being met.

In 2023, the Gambling Commission also announced a financial penalty totalling £2.5 million against bet365 group entities for failings related to social responsibility and anti-money laundering controls. The action covered both sports betting and gaming operations conducted under UK licences held within the group. The Commission’s public statement attributed the failings to specific licensed entities within the bet365 structure and set out the remedial steps required.

Any further regulatory actions, variations to licence conditions or outcomes of reviews are published by the Gambling Commission through its public statements and the public register entry for this licence.
