Offshore Transfers
When a gambling site transfers to an offshore operator (Malta, Gibraltar, Alderney, Cyprus), the operator remains fully regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and must comply with all UK rules. They also pay Point of Consumption (PoC) tax on UK gambling revenue. However, corporate profits are taxed at lower rates offshore, meaning less corporation tax revenue for the UK.

Sites returning to UK-based operators contribute more to the UK economy through corporation tax. The regulatory oversight from the Gambling Commission remains the same regardless of location, as all operators serving UK players must meet the same licensing requirements.
